What is The National Association of Distinguished Counsel?

The NADC recognizes lawyers who perform and live out legal excellence. To be accepted into the NADC, an attorney must upraise the Bar’s standards and become a role model for all other attorneys to follow. Becoming a part of the NADC is an incredible achievement considering the small number that are inducted.

How Do You Get Accepted Into The NADC?

Due to the exclusivity of the award, the selection process is multi-faceted and selective. To be officially accepted into the NADC, an attorney must surpass the four selection rounds, which include:

  • Stage One – In this stage, candidates are either chosen or nominated. Nominations can come from other lawyers, clients, or members of the NADC. If a candidate is selected, it is due to the organization’s in-house research team.
  • Stage Two – In stage two of the evaluation process, the NADC looks at multiple aspects of an attorney’s career. These aspects include firm reputation, the number of years practiced, awards or memberships, participation in the communication, organization leadership, and more.
  • Stage Three – During this stage, the remaining applications are evaluated by a panel of blue-ribbon attorneys. These attorneys are considered elite in their field and only choose other outstanding lawyers to be a part of the NADC.
  • Stage Four – In the final stage of the evaluation process, a panel of former judges look at each application. To be accepted, the judicial review board must determine that an attorney surpasses the expectations set forth by a lawyer and exemplifies high integrity and credibility.
