Chicago Personal Injury Law Firm Recognizes National Safety Awareness Month with Donation to Help Keep Local Children Safe on the Road
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), motor vehicle injuries are a leading cause of death among children in the United States and more than 618,000 children ages 0-12 have ridden in vehicles without the use of a child safety seat or booster seat or a seat belt at least some of the time. Because of this, Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. is celebrating National Safety Month in June by providing 100 car seats to children in need in Cook County to help protect young children.
“Every day we help people who have been injured but we are committed to giving back to the Chicago area community the tools and resources they need to stay safe,” said Jared Staver, founder of Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C.. “We are excited to be able to provide 100 car seats to children that otherwise might otherwise be traveling the roads of Chicago unsafely.”
Families in Cook County that are in financial need of a car seat for their child are encouraged to visit the online request form and provide their contact information. A Graco SnugRide Click Connect 30 car seat will be shipped within three to five business days to the first 100 valid requests.
The National Child Restraint Use Special Study in 2015 found that nearly 60 percent of car seats were misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness. Because of this, Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. will also include a detailed safety brochure explaining how to properly use each car seat.
