I joined the legal field because I wanted to make a genuine difference in how the law affects people’s lives. I come from a family that valued education and using their careers to help those who had no one else for support. It’s rewarding to help our clients in their most vulnerable moments as they navigate their grievances against a much larger force. It’s its own reward.
In my role at this firm, I go to court and speak in front of judges at the Daley Center to represent our clients. I propound discovery and engage in correspondence with insurance adjusters on behalf of our clients. I’m learning how to navigate depositions, and will soon handle those on my own. In my time with the firm, I never hesitate to tackle projects and try my earnest to accomplish them on my own. I have also learned to not hesitate to ask questions when they arise.
My peers have given me positive reinforcement regarding my work product and I take pride in the thoroughness of my note-taking skills. In my time clerking at other firms and working as a Court Mediator for the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution, I have learned valuable skills and gained insights into what people are really seeking when they seek an attorney. I know that the law is confusing, and I hope I can help every client I work with understand our approach. I keep my knowledge and skills up-to-date by reading new developments every day.
