Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. Sponsors KidsMatter to Empower Kids to Realize Endless Possibilities

by Jared Staver in Media, Personal Injury

Children today face many challenges as they learn and grow. Peer pressure, challenges in school and at home, self-confidence, and more all influence the ways a child views themselves and the world. With so many people telling them how to look, think, and act, how can a child truly experience being a kid?

Attorney Jared Staver recognizes that children can grow into thoughtful adolescents and adults if given the proper tools to make wise decisions that will lead them down positive paths. This belief, coupled with the mounting pressures children face today is what led the Chicago personal injury lawyers of Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. to recently donate $1,000 to the organization KidsMatter.

KidsMatter is a nonprofit organization rooted in asset-building. Focusing on 40 Developmental Assets, KidsMatter aims to help children develop the skills necessary to grow into thoughtful, resilient adolescents and adults who, per their mission, “say ‘no’ to destructive choices, and ‘yes’ to endless opportunities.” The Developmental Assets that KidsMatter incorporates into their Empowering Kids program are separated into eight categories:

  • Support
  • Empowerment
  • Positive identity
  • Commitment to learning
  • Positive values
  • Social competencies
  • Boundaries and expectations
  • Constructive use of time

By implementing these character-building strategies into their various programs, KidsMatter is setting the groundwork for the children of Chicago to develop into adults who contribute to society.

About Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C.

Often, children are at the center of personal injury cases in Chicago. Through no fault of their own, they simply found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Perhaps they were injured in a car accident by a driver making an illegal turn, or maybe they were injured by a defective toy that should have been recalled. They already have people and the media telling them to act and think a certain way – why should they have to worry about their safety while trying to enjoy simply being a kid?

The Chicago personal injury lawyers of Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. are honored to donate to KidsMatter, a nonprofit that is doing so much to help the city and children living in it.
